Behind the scenes of being a winner

7th Oct 2023 marked the start of a new journey for me.

40+ million people worldwide have been on the journey, with only 8500+ members actively pursuing their mastery, and one single winner – ME!

Yes, I won the first prize in the Life Mastery Achiever programme, a grand prize worth $10,000 of coaching by an international coach for World Class Achiever coaching for 5 days in 2024 – high-level coaching is not cheap, that’s $2,000 per day and international coaches get booked several months in advance.

I can now proudly say that I will be standing on the shoulders of giants to take me ahead in my international success.

I share in this post:

  • Why do I invest so much in my growth?
  • The behind-the-scene of being a winner
  • What motivates me to invest so much time?
  • The wise words of my coach

✨It is MY responsibility to invest time towards my crescendo
✨I am making it World Class to differentiate myself within my sector
✨I want to walk the talk on integrity, accountability, and lifelong learning

Without an accountability buddy, I knew I had to build a high level of integrity to honour my highest potential.

I started the journey seeking growth and in the process was awarded the grand prize for my level of integrity and for inspiring others. It has been a continuous effort during the last 8 months:

  • 100 hours of group coaching (3 hours every weekend)
  • 80 hours in live mastery training (S21, S22 & S23)
  • 60 hours in training myself every day in the last 2 months, morning and evening, showing up with consistency
  • 50 hours of learning materials on the learning portal
  • 40 hours of activities and exercise directly from the learning materials
  • 20 hours in live training (S24 Days 1, 2 & 3)
  • 15 hours of group hangout (3 hours every month)

This is not it, the growth journey started more than 10 years ago, I jumped on courses, retreats, workshops, and I have circulated over £ 20,000 on those sessions that prepared me for this big win!

✨ Years back I crossed paths with a narcissist (let’s call him A), students and staff were crying in the office, they were bullied and burnt out. Senior leadership team was investigating A’s dubious expenses and practices, A used his power to not be sacked. After being invited by a senior leadership member to formally raise the issue, the experience of subsequently being victimised crushed my confidence to pieces. No one came forth with genuine help; a few “helped” because they had no choice (two directors from senior leadership team). A few close friends (outside work) checked on me, so I did not go into deep depression. So let that be the last time I become a victim of bullying!

✨I have no one in my family from whom to get support/advice for personal development, nor anyone from my professional network who could give me the support and the level of coaching/mentoring I need, BUT I know I can trust myself to invest in my own development.

✨My line of work is mostly in higher education; in such a toxic working environment, I have already differentiated myself, and yet struggle to be paid for what I am worth, simply because of biases. Those of you who have a flair for good leadership, know I am irreplaceable, you have even probably told me so many times. I am not allowing anyone to undermine my worth anymore. I will excel in my visibility and impact beyond what others are doing in the sector!

Since you are on this page celebrating me being a winner, wouldn’t it be great if I gift you some insights for you to be a winner too? So here are some of the wise words from my coach in response to my question about maintaining the momentum in one’s growth journey.

Learn how to learn well

Most of us want to learn, but we do not know what it means to be a learner. Most of us only want to hear what we believe to be true. The problem is that you are then defending the sand castles you have built in your mind called “your reality”. It is important to look for places of disagreement, this shows you where your beliefs are clashing with the person you are listening to. If they have got the results you want, it makes sense for you to consider their belief and opinions even if you disagree.

Remind yourself, what happened the last time you believed you no longer needed to learn

If you ask yourself this question and observe the patterns of the beginning of your downfall when you began to go into failure, you would notice that what happened just before your failure, was your mindset: “I do not have to be as keen anymore”, I already know these stuff”, ” I do not need to show up as much”; you would notice it was that very moment that your downfall began.

Cultivate an identity of humility

It is about you having an open mind and be willing to hear the very things you are resisting hearing. Check out my blog on “Being a humble student
