I officially became an ASIST caregiver in June 2024. The training involves 2 days of intensive and emotional training with two wonderful trainers from Papyrus.
Day 1 covered the Pathway for Assisting Life (PAL), particularly connecting with suicide and understanding what the person is going through, followed by the Safety Framework.
Day 2 included practising turning points and lots of scenario practice.
